Oil level in an automatic transmission should be supported strictly on certain size.
Low level of oil can lead to proslipping or loss of transfer of a twisting moment while overflow can become the foaming reason that will lead to transmission damage.
Oil level in an automatic transmission depends on oil temperature.
At check the oil temperature should be 70–80 С that is reached after a trip on distance of 15-20 km.

THE NOTE
If the car moved on high speed for an appreciable length of time, or was maintained in a city mode in a heat, or towed the trailer, oil level in an automatic transmission cannot be defined precisely. Stop the engine and wait for 30 mines that oil has cooled down to the demanded temperature.

Check oil level on the car which is in horizontal position, with a heated-up transmission and the lever of the selector translated in position Park. Before check at the working engine press a pedal of a brake and move the selector lever through all positions, beginning and finishing position Park.

At engine work on frequency of rotation of idling take the index of level from a directing tube (
fig. 2.3). On labels on the level index check up level of oil and its condition (
fig. 2.4).

Wipe pure rags the index of level of oil, insert it into directing tube of a transmission and take. Check up oil level. If a transmission hot, level has to be in zone HOT (In on
fig. 2.4). If a transmission cold, level has to be in zone COOL (And on
fig. 2.4).
If level is in the bottom part of a zone, it is necessary to add oil in an automatic transmission through directing tube for the level index.
If oil level is on the bottom label to the maximum size it will rise at addition about 0,55 l.
At check of level of oil in an automatic transmission check up also an oil condition. Compare it on colour, a smell and viscosity to new oil.
If oil in a transmission dark or black with a burnt smell, means, frictional overlays of a transmission are worn out.
If oil in a transmission of dairy colour, means, water has got to it. It can occur because of condensation of an atmospheric moisture at constant operation of the car in a mode of short trips. If colour of oil does not change after a long trip, it is necessary to replace oil.
Because of an overheat of a transmission or too high level of oil it becomes dark brown, sticky to the touch. If replacement of oil does not give result, address in a specialised workshop on repair of automatic transmissions.
If at check of level of oil or oil replacement in an automatic box in oil particles of a dirt or a metal shaving are found out, it is necessary to repair an automatic transmission in a specialised workshop.
