THE NOTE
The cover and rotor of the distributor of ignition equip cars only till 1997 of release. The cars which were issued with 1988 for 2000, are equipped by contactless system of ignition.
Cars of release till 2001 have high-voltage wires, and since 2001 of the coil of ignition are established directly on spark plugs.
|
Check high-voltage wires each time at installation of spark plugs. Begin visual check at the working engine. In the blacked out garage get the engine and observe of each wire. If there is an internal rupture of a wire, the electric arch or a spark in a damage place will be visible. In this case replace a wire.
Switch off and cool the engine then check up a cover and a rotor of the distributor of ignition.
Not to mix, on one remove and examine high-voltage wires.

Fig. 2.30. Removal of a tip from a high-voltage wire from a spark plug on cars till 2001
|
Having pulled upwards and simultaneously turning, remove a tip with a high-voltage wire from a spark plug (
fig. 2.30). Do not pull directly for a high-voltage wire.
Check up a tip on absence of traces of corrosion in the form of a white firm powder.
Establish into place a tip with a high-voltage wire, pressing it and simultaneously turning before its accurate fixing.
Pure rags wipe a high-voltage wire on all its length, having cleared it of a dirt and greasing. Check up a wire on absence оплавления, cracks and other damages. Do not do sharp excesses of a wire as the internal conductor can break.

Fig. 2.33. Use of an edge of a screw-driver for removal of a protective cover from a high-voltage wire from a cover of the distributor of ignition
|
Screw-driver edge remove a protective cover with a high-voltage wire from a cover of the distributor of ignition on cars of release till 1998, or from the ignition coil on cars of release with 1998 for 2000 (
fig. 2.33).
Check up inside a protective cover on absence of traces of corrosion. Connect a high-voltage wire.
Similarly check up a condition of other high-voltage wires.

Fig. 2.34. An arrangement of the screw of fastening of a cover of the distributor of ignition on cars of release till 1998
|
On cars of release till 1998 turn out screws and uncover the ignition distributor (
fig. 2.34). From within check up a cover on absence of cracks, coal "paths",
оплавления,
обгорания and unreliable contacts.
|
Fig. 2.35. A reversing of screws of fastening of a rotor of the distributor of ignition on cars of release till 1998
|
Turn out two screws and remove a rotor of the distributor of ignition (
fig. 2.35). Check up a rotor on absence of cracks, coal "paths",
обгорания lateral and central electrodes.
In the presence of any damages replace a cover and a rotor of the distributor of ignition. It is recommended to replace also at replacement of high-voltage wires a cover and a rotor of the distributor of ignition.
If on the car the old cover of the distributor of ignition with high-voltage wires is established, by an ohmmeter measure resistance between the free ends of wires and internal electrodes in a cover which should not exceed 25000 Ohm.
