Safety locks serve to break off a chain when the current strength will exceed certain value that is necessary for protection of devices-consumers and wires which can be damaged too high current. The sharp increase in a current strength is usually caused by malfunction in a chain, more often short circuit.

Blocks of safety locks are located in the panel of devices and in a motor compartment (fig.

The arrangement of safety locks and the
electric chains protected by safety locks, are resulted from the inside on a cover of the block of safety locks. Each safety lock has an inscription about size of a protected current.

If the safety lock has fused, means, the conductor connecting contacts of a safety lock, is broken off (
fig. 15.9) see
.
THE PREVENTION
Always replace a safety lock with other safety lock of the same capacity.
Never replace a safety lock more than once, without having defined its reason перегорания.
|
To remove a safety lock, take advantage of tweezers for its extraction from a socket. Get a safety lock from tweezers. The wire in a safety lock is swept easily up and will be broken off, if the safety lock has fused.
Establish the new safety lock calculated on the same current. From an underside each safety lock has an inscription about size of a protected current. Besides, colour of a safety lock also corresponds to the maximum size of a passed current (tab.
15.9 see
).
If the established safety lock fuses repeatedly, check up the electric chain protected by a safety lock.
THE PREVENTION
At all do not replace a safety lock with a wire crosspiece as the electric chain of the car can be seriously damaged.
|
THE PREVENTION
Characteristics of fuses and electric chains can change from year to year.
