Fig. 15.59. An arrangement of components of management of external rear-view mirrors: 1 – the electric motors located in cases of mirrors; 2 – block ECU located from outside of the forward passenger; 3 – the ignition lock; 4 – the switch of adjustment of position of external mirrors; 5 – the block of safety locks from outside the driver

For adjustment of position of each external rear-view mirror 2 electric motors are used: one for adjustment in vertical, the second — in horizontal planes (
fig. 15.59).
The switch has the selector which submits pressure on the right or left mirror.
Check of a drive of external rear-view mirrors make as follows.
Include ignition, without starting up the engine. Lower windshields and serially turn mirrors in vertical and horizontal planes, listening to a sound of working engines.
If the engine works, and the mirror does not move, probably, the mechanism of a drive of a mirror is faulty. Remove and disassemble a mirror for definition of a cause of defect.
If mirrors do not move and is not audible works of engines, check up integrity of a safety lock.
If the safety lock is serviceable, remove from the panel of devices the switch and check up its condition.
According to electric schemes check up reliability of connection of wires of the mirrors connected to "weight".
If the mirror still does not work, remove it and check up pressure giving to a mirror.
If there is no pressure even in one position of the switch, check up an electric chain between a mirror and the switch.
If pressure is present at all working positions of the switch, remove a mirror and check up working capacity of electric motors, connecting their additional wires to the storage battery. If engines do not work, replace a mirror.
