The top dead point (ВМТ) is the highest point through which takes place the piston at engine work. Each piston reaches ВМТ in compression and release steps, but term ВМТ usually concerns the piston of the first cylinder in a compression step. Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in ВМТ in a compression step – an essential part of process on replacement of pulleys and a gear belt, and also on adjustment of a backlash of valves.

THE PREVENTION
Before installation of the piston of the first cylinder in ВМТ, switch off ignition and establish the gear change lever in neutral position.

Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in ВМТ make in a following order:
– Disconnect ignition system, having disconnected an electric socket from the ignition block;
– Turn out spark plugs and establish a tip компрессометра in an aperture for a spark plug of the first cylinder;

– Turn a cranked shaft clockwise and at approach of the piston of the first cylinder to

After installation of the piston of the first cylinder in ВМТ in a compression step, turning a cranked shaft on 180 , it is possible to establish other pistons in ВМТ in sequence corresponding to an operating procedure of cylinders.
