PREVENTIONS
Removal of the water pump make on the cold engine.
Do not suppose hit of a cooling liquid on clothes and a paint and varnish covering of a body. Otherwise wash out a surface a water considerable quantity.
Collect and utilise the merged cooling liquid.

Check of the water pump
The faulty water pump can become the reason of serious damage of the engine.
Get the engine and warm up to working temperature. At engine work compress the top hose of a radiator. If the water pump works normally, in a hose the pressure created by the pump will be felt.

THE PREVENTION
In an operating time of the engine do not bring a hand too close to the fan and be far away from a plane of rotation of the fan

The water pump has a drain aperture for a drain of a cooling liquid from the pump case at damage of a sealing ring. The aperture is located under shaft of a drive of the pump from outside a pulley (
fig. 4.12). If about an aperture there is a grey touch from the dried up cooling liquid is a normal phenomenon. If there are dark brown stains, means it is necessary to make replacement or pump repair.
For check of deterioration of bearings of the pump shake a pump pulley. If is available люфт, it is necessary to replace or repair the pump.
Replacement of the water pump by cars of release till 2001
Switch off ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery.
Merge cooling liquid.
Remove the gear belt directing and tension rollers.

Turn out a bolt and remove an adjusting support of the generator (
fig. 4.13).
On cars with a central air turn out bolts of fastening of the compressor of the conditioner. Move the conditioner compressor together with the wires attached to it and tubes aside and a soft wire fix it on a body.

THE PREVENTION
Do not open a central air contour.

Disconnect the bottom hose from a radiator.

Turn out bolts of fastening of the water pump, thus mark position of bolts as they have different length. Remove the pump and a lining (
fig. 4.14). If the pump does not act in film manually, bring down it

Disconnect from the pump a bypass pipe of system of cooling, then turn away 2 nuts and disconnect a pipe of a heater from the pump (
fig. 4.15). Uncover the water pump.
Clear привалочные surfaces of the pump of the rests of hermetic, a lining and sealing rings.
Establish new sealing rings between a cover of the pump and the block of cylinders. Establish a new lining under a heater pipe.

Establish the pump with a new lining and fix bolts, first of all having tightened the bolts shown in drawing
4.16, then in the sequence shown in drawing
4.17, tighten other bolts.
The further installation make in sequence, return to removal.
Fill in cooling liquid.
Get the engine and be convinced of absence of leaks.
Replacement of the water pump by cars of release since 2001
Switch off ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery.
Merge cooling liquid.
Loosen the bolts of fastening of a pulley of the water pump, then remove driving a belt.
Release from a clip a plait of wires and take him aside from the water pump.

Turn out bolts and remove the water pump (
fig. 4.18).
Clear привалочные surfaces of the pump of the hermetic and lining rests.

Put the platen of hermetic RTV in diameter of 3 mm on a groove outer side on
привалочной to a surface of the water pump (
fig. 4.19).
Establish the water pump and fix its bolts.
The further installation make in sequence, return to removal.
Fill in cooling liquid.
Get the engine and be convinced of absence of leaks.
